I’m not a huge believe in the perfect date and I definitely don’t believe it’s possible. However, I do have an idea for an absolutely perfect date. I would be picked up from my house at 7pm, wearing my favorite long black and red dress, greeted with a small bouquet of lilies and irises, my two favorite flowers, and escorted to the car.
Our date would take place at Cha Cha’s, an extremely high-class restaurant where my date would hold the chair and push it in for me, a real gentleman. He would begin by asking me what I would like to drink, and when I would ask him to choose for me, he would choose my favorite: Okanagan Wine from Canada. He would follow by asking me exactly what I would like to order (wild duck with rice) and order it for me when the waiter arrived to take it.
The dinner conversation, however, would be casual and relaxed, as we spoke about those little things that we do in daily life, rather than covering controversial political topics and whatnot. It would be pleasant and reasonably personal, with absolutely no hint whatsoever of boredom or argument. The food wouldn’t take too long to come, only about 15 or 20 minutes and would smell absolutely fantastic. My polite date would immediately ask if I liked the food and whether I wanted anything else. We would make small conversation between bites, rather than having each of us focus on our food. It would be an absolutely fantastic meal, taste-wise, and for desert we would share a chocolate mousse.
After he would try to pay I’d refuse to let him, and we’d split the bill without much arguing whatsoever. He would escort me back to the car, open the door for me and close it after, and then we’d go for a nice, long drive in the country by night, continuing our conversation. When we would decide to call it a night, he would drive me back home, walk me to the front door, and kiss me just before I went back inside, before asking for a second date. An extremely ideal, perfect date that I don’t think would ever possibly be able to happen, but a girl can dream!
I’ve always had this image of the perfect date in my mind: staying at home and making dinner, then curling up and watching a movie. I’ve got the details all down flat! It would be a three-course meal: an appetizer, main course and finally, desert. We’d drink some nice Bordeaux red wine, and the table would be elaborately set, with a tablecloth, candles and napkins.
As an appetizer, I would make potato jackets: baking the potatoes beforehand and mashing the innards once my date arrives, adding bacon, cheese and sour cream, then sticking them in the oven while preparing the main meal. As a main meal, I’d work on a macaroni salad with green pepper and onion while he made meat and tomato sauce to go with the spaghetti, simmering it for half an hour to make it just perfect. Of course, when I accidentally spilt half the spaghetti on the floor, he’d just laugh and help me pick it up, no phased at all and definitely not angry! Finally, I’d have bought a nice cheesecake to eat for desert.
The idea of having a nice homemade meal indoors with a date appeals to me as I feel it would be so much more personal than a date at a restaurant. We’d be making the food together and eating the food together. The elaborate setting of the table and the good wine would make it seem classy, as though we were in a restaurant, and we’d be able to have a conversation which would be guaranteed private.
After dinner, while we relax, I’d love to watch a funny movie. Happy Gilmore, Zoolander, a movie like that would be perfect for after-dinner laughsedies are definitely my favorite movies, but romantic comedies aren’t really for me, and I definitely wouldn’t want to watch something very deep on a casual date. Horror movies scare me, too, so none of those, either! Of course, we’d be too full for popcorn, but we would curl up on the sofa under warm blankets and have a good laugh during the movie! It would be such a wonderful way to finish the date on a casual note and still have fun. It definitely qualifies as my dream date!
my prefect date would be with a guy with a great sense of humour , we,d meet in a quiet pub and over a drink get to know each other better then maybe a nice meal and along walk on a beach to watch the waves just lapping the shore totally relaxed time together the kind of nite you never want to end ....
