I never had much luck when it came to dating.I thought myself to be attractive, friendly, and outgoing, but I still had a hard time finding the perfect man.It got to the point where I felt I’d never have any dating success stories to share with my friends and family. After trying conventional ways of finding love, such as being set up on blind dates, going to bars and clubs, or looking to meet someone new at a party, I figured I’d have better luck trying different approaches.
I signed up with several online dating sites. I felt a little uncomfortable sharing such personal information with people I hadn’t yet met face to face.And, when I did finally meet someone in person, I was usually disappointed. I even tried posting an ad in her local newspaper, but found my results to be the same as they were with the aforementioned dating websites. Frustrated, I turned to her friends for advice.
I was regaled with their dating success stories, and offered suggestions on different ways I could approach a new relationship.
It seemed that the one thing I was told most often was to stop looking so hard for love. By relaxing and allowing things to happen naturally, I’d surely find someone with whom I could create a few success stories of my own.
I decided this approach could just work, and set about my daily routine.It wasn’t long before I met the man of my dreams.
Each morning before work, I would stop at my local coffee shop for breakfast.One day I noticed that a handsome man always seemed to be there at the same time I stopped in.I soon realized that he noticed her, too.
Mr, and the man whose name I learned was Ted, began exchanging pleasantries. Soon we moved on to longer conversations, which eventually led to Ted asking me to dinner. Not forgetting my friends’ advice, I agreed, but decided I wouldn’t worry too much about it being the perfect date. However, as luck would have it, the date was beyond perfect.Me and Ted found we had much in common. We both had had a hard time finding the perfect mate, and both believed in taking things slow.
Ted also revealed that one of the reasons he went to the coffee shop each day was to see me. He had noticed me several months prior to my initial meeting, and showed up each day hoping to one day talk to me.
I was floored.My friends had been right.What I wanted all along was right in front of me, but I hadn’t been able to see it until I decided to take my friends’ advice.
Over the next year, me and Ted saw a lot of each other.We went on fun outings, met each other’s families, and learned we both loved each other very much.It wasn’t long before Ted proposed.
Today me and Ted have been married for 5 years, have one daughter, and a baby on the way.I was glad I listened to my friends and let love come naturally.I now have many success stories for those who ask for my advice!
